Customising the wordpress plugin (1)
In this article I’m just going to talk you through the download, installation and then finally, through the file structure and template tags of our wordpress plugin.
The plugin simply allows you to have a job listing page on your wordpress installation. You can customise how it looks with your knowledge of html and CSS.
You can see live examples on the inmeres and uniquecss websites – send us your examples, if they look cool we’ll stick em here too. Added traffic!

Install the plugin
- Unzip the “job-listing.zip” folder
- INSIDE the unzipped folder there is another one called “job-listing”
- Upload this job-listing folder to your /wp-content/plugins/ directory
- Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress.
- Navigate to new The Ideal Candidate menu item.
- Enter your PayPal email address and a password (if you already have an Ideal Candidate account just enter your admin address and password).
- Enter the amount of characters you want to show in the summary
- If you like, you can can set filters for each property. For instance if you only want “creative” jobs showing – type “creative” into the “categories” field.
Right, create a new page. Title it. “jobs” (or whatever you like!)
Paste [tic-job-list] into the content.
Publish it.
Done. Ish!
