Our client is one of the World’s leading developers and is now working on an innovative and cutting-edge online title. They are looking for an experienced Artist for their latest Triple A project

Duties/Responsibilities:
• Understand the unique art vision for the project, ensuring you completely ‘get it’ and then producing assets of the highest quality that support this vision
• Creating a wide variety of art assets. Mainly concentrating on environments, vehicles and props but working on UI, visual effects and, ultimately, characters, all of which will be up for grabs for the most capable and versatile artists
• Bringing your own creativity to the project by proposing new and interesting ways to achieve the art vision in your assigned area of work
• Resolve creative and technical challenges. Working with other departments to gather requirements for a given feature and then drive all aspects of the resolution for it
• Create clear, concise and accessible documentation of all work being undertaken so that everyone from the Art Director to Senior Management can review the work at any time… and get excited by what they see.

Skills/Experience Required:
• Experience working on at least 1 shipped game title in your career
• Degree/diploma from Art College in Games Development course or other art or design related course preferred
• An excellent knowledge industry standard 2-D package (e.g. Photoshop) and an industry standard 3-D package is necessary (3D Studio Max preferable but Maya acceptable)
• Excellent 2-D and 3-D asset creation skills. You will be highly skilled in hand authoring of materials (diffuse, specular, normal maps) and hard surface 3-D models (environments, props, vehicles)
• Strong traditional art skills are greatly preferred
• Excellent eye for colour, shape, mood, lighting and composition
• Experience working with some or all of the following: complex shaders and materials, in-game lighting systems, visual effects systems and post-processing techniques
• A problem-solver with an aptitude for troubleshooting. Capable of getting to the heart of a technical challenge and come up with an exciting and efficient solution
• Capable of planning out your own work, giving realistic and achievable timescales and then working to these.
