We are currently in search of a Solutions Architect to lead the design, architecture, development and ongoing support for the Synacor client sites. The Solutions Architect will act as a liaison with client technical team members on the process while delivering excellent presentations, technical designs, and architecture documentation. The ideal candidate will have proven experience working with internal and external business representatives and business analysts to quickly understand requirements and evaluate, select, implement, and integrate technology tools into a client solution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Advise our technical and management teams regarding technical requirements for current and new products
• Provide support and leadership in network design and architecture as well as provide product updates and advice to Synacor clients
• Design, develop, enhance and provide ongoing support of the Synacor solution for client sites
• Provide on-going support and system administration to quickly fix production issues and provide on-going maintenance
• Work and deliver under tight timeline and ability to multi-task
• Participate and lead in technical discussions
• Other duties as assigned

Education, Experience and Skills:
• Bachelor of Computer Science or related field preferred
• 5-7 years related experience
• Independent problem-solving, self-direction
• Ability to work in complex customer environments with delivery that is responsive to internal and external Customer's expectations
• Must have effective communications skills, both oral and written
• Require ability to accurately estimate, plan, and report work efforts
• Required to be able to analyze and solve technically related project issues
• Has a solid understanding of a UNIX-based operating system; understands paging and swapping, inter-process communication, devices and what device drivers do, file system concepts (inode, clustering, logical partitions)
• Must understand basic network design and networking concepts (firewalls, load balancing, TCP stack)
• Generally knows several programming languages used for scripting or automation of routine tasks. (bash, Perl, PHP)
• Must have a strong development background in web programming, including experience with PERL, PHP, and Java
• Must have a solid understanding of web services and authentication/authorization technologies (SAML, LDAP, SOAP)
• Expertise with the operation and usage of ISP/MSO billing and provisioning systems a plus
• Available during core hours, Monday through Friday
